The masterminds behind the popular haunted house are Roy and Nikki Jandreau, Herrons sister-in-law.Herron has been a part of the haunted house since it started, but after being diagnosed with colorectal cancer, he had to take a break. Last year, I couldnt have been here to even do this interview with you, Herron said. I was so weak and so sick and tired. I was getting my chemo and getting ready for my surgery, and there was just no way I could be here. He said he had not been feeling like himself. A colonoscopy at the age of 50 found he had a mass in his colon. If things arent working the way theyre supposed to, go to the doctor and dont wait, Herron said. Cancer doesnt wait. After more than a dozen rounds of chemo and a surgery, hes one step closer to being a cancer survivor.
