Assistant Police Chief Steve Niekamp told CBS DFW that the suspension is the equivalent of a termination from the department. According to Police Chief Steve Moore, Officer Miguel Jimenez told the teen suspect, Andrew Rodriguez, he was going to jail when Rodriguez began to walk away and call his mother.
