Pnfj McCain Will Take Any And All Votes
The following is a transcript of an interview with Cynthia Sheng, the president of Jefferson Parish in Louisiana, that aired on Sunday, September 5, 2021, on Face the Nation. WEIJIA JIANG: We go now to the president of Jefferson Parish in the greater New Orleans area, Cynthia Lee Sheng. Good morning to you, Cynthia.JEFFERSON PARISH PRESIDENT CYNTHIA LEE SHENG: Good morning. Thank you so much for having stanley cups me on th stanley mug e show. WEIJIA JIANG: Thank you for being here. You said in a recent briefing that the dangers after the storm are just as serious as during the storm. What are the most imminent dangers you are worried about right now and how are you coping with them SHENG: Well, I mean, that s definitely the case. If you look at the storms that we ve had in Louisiana in the past year, I think we ve lost more lives post-storm. In Jefferson Parish we only lost one life during the storm. Unfortunately, I happen to know the person very, very tragic in Lafayette, where the- where the waters rose very high. But then, you know, a couple of stanley cup days later, I feel like two days later, we lost three people to carbon monoxide poisoning. We lost another resident to a nursing home with- with the, you know, issue with that with the people who evacuated. And then we also had, which is not directly storm related, but we had a fatal shooting at a gas station because we were living in a community that is just completely broken down. And people are, you know, stressed Zqcu Tennessee voters officially ban all forms of slavery in the state
STEVE JOBS AND THE END OF HISTORY....Tyler Cowen points to a cute little research paper today that attempts to figure out which of AC/DC s lead singers was better, Brian Johnson or Bon Scott. B stanley cup becher etter has a fairly idiosyncratic meaning here, though. Long story short, Robert Oxoby of the University of Calgary ran one of those little classroom bargaining exercises so beloved of experimental economists everywhere, except this time he did one trial while playing a Johnson tune and a second trial while playing a Scott tune. Result: without getting into the gruesome details, the students were less economically efficient when the Scott tune was playing. Matt Yglesias comments:I think the trend toward economists studying silly topics may have gone too far. Don t we still need people to look into minor questions like how do changes in income tax rates effect GDP growth Now, this seems like a very responsible position to take. Back to work, economists! And yet, consider this. Sure, Oxoby was just having some fun here, but he still claims though one might well be suspicious here that his results were statistically significant. If that s true, it means that something as trivial as playing a slightly different kind of music in the background induced substantially inefficient economic behavior in his subjects. That kinda makes you wonder just how effici stanley water bottle ent all the rest of us are, doesn t it Perhaps the iPod will eventually doom capitalism as we k stanley cup now it.
