A new survey has yielded shocking and saddening results, showing millennials and Gen Z have a worrying lack of basic Holocaust knowledge, according to the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany known as the Claims Conference .The U.S. Millennial Holocaust Knowledge and Awareness Survey, which was commissioned by the Claims Conference and conducted by Schoen Cooperman Research, is the first 50-state survey on Holocaust knowledge among millennials and Gen Z, according to a Wednesdaypress release.Through the survey, the Claims Conference calculated Holocaust knowledge scores using the percentage of millennials and Ge stanley cup n Z adults who met all three criteria: they have definitively heard about the Holocaust, the can name at least one concentration camp, death camp, or ghetto, and they know that 6 million Jews were killed in the Holocaust. Sixty-three percent of survey respondents did not know 6 million Jews were killed during the Holocaust, Clai stanley cup ms Conference says.Thirty-six percent thought that two million stanley cup or fewer Jews were killed during the Holocaust, and 48% could not name a single camp or ghetto established during World War II, despite the fact that there were more than 40,000 of them. In perhaps one of the most disturbing revelations of this survey, 11 percent of U.S. Millennial and Gen Z respondents believe Jews caused the Holocaust, Claims Conference writes.Nearly 20% of millennials and Gen Z in New York sa Gsmq Hunter Biden special counsel David Weiss to speak with congressional investigators
In the race to combat climate change, the city of Los Angeles is employing a surprising new tactic -- covering its streets in a grayish-white coating known as CoolSeal. It s sprayed onto the roadway with trucks, then spread across the surface with squeegees. However, its impact extends far beyond the edge of the pavement.Los Angeles, like so many other modern cities, is encased in thousands of miles of asphalt. And dark-colored asphalt absorbs between 80 and 95 percent of the sun s rays, heating up not just the streets themselves but af1 the entire surrounding area. So when temperatures in Southern California rise above 100 degrees Fahrenheit, surface temperatures on its asphalt roads can climb to 150. It exacerbates a phenomenon known as the urban heat island effect, which theEPA says can add up to 22 degrees Fahrenheit to the average air temperature in a city, compared to the surrounding area.CoolSeal, which is made by a company called GuardTop, helps to reflect solar rays off asphalt so that less heat is actually absorbed. And according to the Bureau of Street Services, the L.A. streets that have been ren stanley cup dered lighter in color with CoolSeal are 10 to 15 degrees cooler on average than the L.A. streets that have not. That, in turn, keeps the neighborhood from heating up quite as much. Buildings in the area don t need to use quite as much air conditioning, which can curb costs, benefiting residents wallets and the environment. reebok By cooling
