SCOTLAND NECK, N.C. - Authorities are investigating the death of a 61-year-old Halifax County man who was shocked by a police taser while sitting on a bicycle. Roger Anthony died Tuesday, a day after a Scotland Neck police officer used a stun gun on him. Turner put on his sirens and lights and yelled for him to stop, but Anthony continued to ride away, police said.Scotland Neck Police Chief Joe Williams said Turner saw Anthony take something out his pocket and put it into his mouth. Turner got out of the car and yelled for Anthony to stop. When Anthony didn t, the officer used a stun gun on him, <a href=https://www.stanley-cup.ca>stanley water bottle</a> causing him to fall off of his bike.Anthony was transported to Pitt County Memorial Hospital, where he was declared brain dead, his sister Gladys Freeman said. Police say there have been two reported incidents of individuals impersonating law enforcement officers in the City of Temple Terrace.In the first incident on December17, around3:00 p.m., two suspects knocked on the victims door in the 200 block of Linda Avenue, and identified themselves as police officers. They told the resident there that they were a victim of identity theft.The victim allowed the suspect <a href=https://www.nikedunk.us>dunks</a> s into their home. The suspects did not take any property or injure the victim.
