CRANFORD BEGINNER CLASSES

BEGINNER PRACTICE: (click here to see available programs at this level)
DESCRIPTION: Athletes will learn fundamental skills such as passing, forward and back setting, hitting, serving, transitioning and basic gameplay. 

AGES: (Girls 9-14) & (Boys 9-12)
EXP: 0- 6 months of formal instruction
FORMAT: 4-6 practices 
PRACTICE DURATION :  80mins- 90 mins- 120 mins
TOURNAMENT: No, they get 20 mins of games at  practice. 

Example of athletes for this program (explained in Layman's terms)

  • Athlete in a rec practice program with some modified games
  • Athlete on a middle school team with very little game time
  • Athlete who is shy, quiet, and sometimes goes to balls thrown at them.
  • When they play, they typically look like: 
    • They stand whith their hands interlocked when they are on the court. 
    • When they pass it goes to the ceiling or backwards, but sometimes they watch it hit the floor
    • They underhand serve
    • They pass the ball back over (not utilizing the 3 touches)
