Solomon as the next dean of the Frank Batten School of Leadership and P <a href=https://www.stanleymug.us>starbucks stanley cup</a> ublic Policy, effective Sept. 1.Solomon, currently CEO of SolomonGlobal LLC, is an educator, policymaker, diplomat and businessman with more than 20 years of experience in more than 40 countries. I am thrilled that Ian Solomon will be the next dean of the Batten School, UVA President Jim Ryan said.聽 His experience in government, academia and the private sector makes him the perfect person to lead Batten, which sits at the intersection of policy and practice. As we welcome Ian, I also want to thank Allan Stam for his leadership of Batten and for his wise counsel to me during my time as president.聽I deeply appreciate his service to UVA. Formally educated at Harvard College a <a href=https://www.stanley-stanley-cup.us>stanley website</a> nd Yale Law School, Solomons cross-sectoral experience includes consulting with McKinsey Company, creating common ground as then-Sen. Barack Obamas legislative counsel on Capitol Hill, negotiating global agreements as the Obama administrations representative to the World Bank, and fostering educational innovation from senior positions at Yale University and the University of Chicago. A reception and fundraiser will be held at 7 p.m., offering proper, period cocktails and very English hors doeuvres, as well as a lecture by Gweneth West, Professor and Head of Costume Design at the University of Virginia, and Curator of UVAs Collection of Historic Dress.聽 Autographed copies of To Marry An English Lord,by Carol Wallace and Gail MacColl, and which Downtons creator Julian Fellowes called marvelous and entertaining, will be awarded to one man and one woman deemed to be best-costumed of the evening.
